Summer Weather Information

CHIPPER SERVICE AVAILABLE DUE TO STORM
Crews will be out with the chipper cleaning up following the storm on Sunday, June 20th. If you have downed branches, place them at your curb and public works will be around to pick them up this week. Branch pickup will be the same as your garbage day. If you miss your garbage day, call public works at 815-886-1870 to schedule a pickup.

POWER OUTAGES
Village residents experiencing an outage can report it in a variety of ways through ComEd. Residents can use their mobile device to call, text, fill out an online form or report using the ComEd Mobile App or Facebook Outage App. Residents may also register for outage alerts to receive information of outages affecting the area as well as outage status updates. COOLING CENTERS
Summer can mean extreme temperatures. Please take steps to keep yourself and loved ones safe. The Recreation Center, 900 W. Romeo Rd., is open as a cooling center Mon.-Fri. 9:00 a.m.- 9:00 p.m. and Sat.-Sun. 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. If you require a cooling center after these hours, please contact the Romeoville Police Department at 815-886-7219.

BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR
The Village of Romeoville would like to encourage everyone to be a good neighbor. Think about neighbors and friends who do not have air conditioning and ask if they have transportation to a Romeoville cooling center. Let neighbors know ahead of time if you are willing to help them if they do not have the ability to cut their grass or clear any downed branches from a storm. Check with these neighbors after a storm to be sure they are okay and ask if they need assistance.

WATER CONSERVATION ORDINANCE THROUGH SEPT. 10TH
Is your grass dry? Keep in mind the Village has a Water Conservation Ordinance from May 10th through September 10th. This means that Residential/Non-Residential Outdoor Water Uses are:

  • Addresses ending in even numbers may water on even number calendar days.
  •  Addresses ending in odd numbers may water on odd number calendar days from 6-9 a.m. & 7-10 p.m.
